Midsummer Night

The name of this picture comes from the simple reason that it was taken one midsummer night - actually in the middle of the night . I like to take photos in the night, especially on a warm summer night. Itīs not exactly the midnight sun here but the light is quite extraordinary.

I took this picture in approximately 1989 with Pentax LX camera and Pentax 80-200 mm lens at about 200 mm. The exposure - with Fujichrome 100 film as usual - is unrecorded it was in the region of half a minute. I did bracket the exposure a lot because with normal autoexposure the picture becomes too light. Otherwise this is a straight shot: no filters, no gimmicks, just a straight print on Cibachrome.
