The image was taken with my new Pentax MZ-S with f:3.5-4.5/24-90 mm IF & AL Pentax lens. The available light was quite poor so I had to use the built-in flash. The exposure - with Fujichrome Sensia 100 - was the slowest speed I thought I could handle safely, 1/60th of a second and full aperture f:4.5. Because of the poor power of the flash, the available light has some effect, the lighting is not as hard as one might expect with direct flash. The background is a class room wall not so far behind so that it has some texture but it is dark enough. This makes the face really stand out well.
The quality of the 24-90 Pentax lens at full aperture is - again - very, very good indeed.
