This simple image of just snow, reeds and hare footprints image shows very clearly the difficulties of exhibiting pictures in the Internet. The original image is a Cibachrome print from a slide of adequate sharpness and colours. As I have exhibited my images always in the same size - 18*25cm - I have an obsession to show these images in an equal size, although of course smaller, on the screen, too - and this causes problems. It is extremely difficult to match the resolution of the scan to each image so as not to get some interesting effects - some work well with low resolution, some need more resolution - and of course the results differ with each monitor and even browser. And this without even saying anything about colour reproduction.
