Moat Street

Tartu, Estonia is a very old town, almost 1000 years old. It has been heavily fortified not much of those fortifications are left, only huge earth banks can be seen - here in the background. The fortress had also a moat and I believe this street which bears its name runs along the bottom of it. This is a view uphill from the town below, also near the University.

Also this image was taken with my newish Voitgländer Bessa-R with f:1.7/35 mm Ultron lens. The available light on the same cloudy December day was quite weak so I did use faster film, Fujifilm Superia 400 - scanned by the lab during printing. The exposure was about 1/60th of a second and aperture f:5.6 - I think, because I did not take notes. The image is somewhat cropped at the bottom and top and brightness and colour balance adjusted in Photoshop.
