Midsummer Night II


As you may already have guessed, the name of this picture comes from the simple reason that it, too, was actually taken in the middle of the midsummer night . As I stated earlier, I like to take photos in the night, especially on a warm summer night. Itīs not the midnight sun here but the light is quite extraordinary.

I took this picture in 1999 with Leica M6 camera and Summicron-M 90 mm lens at about f:8. The exposure - with Fujichrome Sensia II (ISO100) film as usual - is unrecorded but it is probably one full second. I did did not bracket the exposure but deliberately underexposed a bit. This is a straight shot: no filters, no gimmicks, professionally scanned from slide.
